WeatherGuard Roofing donated the labor of ten associates for three days to apply 12,000 sq. ft. of new roofing material at Camp Sundown … a special retreat for children affected with Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XPS). Jeff Thomas, President of WeatherGuard Roofing has been a longtime supporter of the XP Society for children who can never be in the light of day. When learning the foundation was a new facility in Craryville, New York… he immediately assigned a crew to proceed in the installation of the new roof, saving the organization thousands of dollars.

Xeroderma Pigmentosum is a rare genetic defect in ultraviolet radiation induced DNA repair mechanisms; characterized by severe sensitivity to all sources of radiation (especially sunlight). The children blister and burn creating mutations that lead to cell death and skin & eye cancers at 1000 times more than the rest of the population. Most of the known cases worldwide will not live to adulthood.
